Two-Minute Turn-Around
| The objective of the game is to train the debater to speak on one topic while mentally composing other arguments.
BE CLEAR: The goal is to continue discussing the first topic while your brain is thinking of a way to integrate the second topic. The debater must continue to discuss the first topic for at least 30 seconds before the second topic is introduced! The objective is to seamlessly weave the second topic into the first. The debater is given a topic from the “General ” column and begins to speak immediately. Allow the debater 1-2 minutes to establish a line of approach to the general topic. Choose any topic from the “Specific” column and say it loudly and clearly. Total time for the exercise is 3-4 minutes per debater. Obviously, the list below is just to get you started. The possibilities are endless! |
