Debate/Débat NB is a debating organization for high school students. Our goal is to promote the art of debate throughout the province. Debating fosters verbal acuity, analytical skills and persuasive powers. Debating also develops self-confidence and poise. These skills remain an integral part of the students’ character for life.
Each year, Debate/Débat NB provides judging, coaching, and debate workshops. Teams without these elements are always welcome. Debate/Débat NB organizes tournaments during the fall semester, culminating with the NB Provincial Cup in December.
We maintain provincial rankings of debaters, allowing students to compete in the Senior Nationals and attend the National Seminar affiliates of the Canadian Student Debating Federation.
